Introducing Our New Injection Pathway at Kinetic – Specialist Care with Dr Jas Bhamrah
Struggling with persistent joint pain or an injury that just won't settle? Our new Injection Pathway could help you take the next step towards recovery.
At Kinetic, we're always looking for ways to improve the care we provide and help our patients get back to doing the things they love. That's why we're excited to introduce our dedicated Injection Pathway in collaboration with Dr Jas Bhamrah, combining specialist medical assessment, injection therapy and expert physiotherapy rehabilitation.
We know how frustrating ongoing pain can be, particularly when it's affecting your work, sport, exercise or everyday activities. Sometimes, despite doing all the right things with physiotherapy and rehabilitation, pain and inflammation can continue to hold you back.
Our Injection Pathway provides another treatment option, bringing medical expertise and rehabilitation together to help you move forward with confidence.
Meet Dr Jas Bhamrah
We're delighted to be working alongside Dr Jas Bhamrah (MBBS, BSc Hons, MRCGP, MRCS), Medical Director of Optimal Health Doctor Ltd.
Dr Bhamrah provides the medical assessment and injection therapy within our pathway, working alongside the Kinetic physiotherapy team to ensure patients receive coordinated, individualised care.
The aim is simple: to combine appropriate medical intervention with high-quality rehabilitation, helping patients manage their symptoms, improve their movement and return to the activities that matter most.
What Conditions Can Our Injection Pathway Help With?
Our pathway is designed to support patients experiencing a range of common musculoskeletal conditions, including:
Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)
Frozen shoulder can cause significant pain, stiffness and restriction of movement, making simple activities such as getting dressed, reaching overhead or sleeping comfortably difficult.
An injection may help reduce pain in suitable patients, allowing them to engage more comfortably with physiotherapy and gradually work towards restoring shoulder movement and function.
Rotator Cuff-Related Shoulder Pain and Subacromial Bursitis
Shoulder pain can make lifting, reaching, exercising and even sleeping uncomfortable. Rotator cuff-related problems and inflammation of the subacromial bursa are common causes.
Where appropriate, injection therapy may provide short-term symptom relief, creating an opportunity to progress with strengthening exercises and rehabilitation.
Knee Osteoarthritis
Knee osteoarthritis can cause pain, stiffness and reduced mobility, affecting walking, stairs, exercise and everyday activities.
For selected patients, an injection may help manage symptoms. Combined with a tailored strengthening and exercise programme, our aim is to improve knee function, confidence and quality of life.
Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)
Despite its name, tennis elbow doesn't just affect tennis players! It's a common condition involving pain around the outside of the elbow, often aggravated by gripping, lifting or repetitive arm movements.
Certain injection treatments may be considered following assessment, although they are not suitable for everyone and some can have less favourable longer-term outcomes. Rehabilitation remains an important part of treatment.
Trigger Finger and Trigger Thumb
Trigger finger occurs when a finger or thumb becomes painful, stiff or catches and locks during movement.
Injection therapy can be an effective option for some patients, helping reduce symptoms and improve hand function without immediately needing to consider surgical treatment.
De Quervain's Tenosynovitis
This condition causes pain around the thumb side of the wrist, often made worse by gripping, lifting or repetitive thumb movements.
It can be particularly troublesome during everyday tasks, work and caring for young children.
An appropriately selected injection may help reduce pain and inflammation, alongside advice on activity modification and rehabilitation.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed at the wrist, potentially causing tingling, numbness, pain or weakness in the hand.
For suitable patients, injection therapy may provide temporary symptom relief. Assessment is particularly important to identify cases where other treatments or specialist referral may be more appropriate.
More Than Just an Injection – A Complete Treatment Pathway
At Kinetic, we believe that an injection should be part of a wider treatment plan, not simply a quick fix.
While injections can help manage symptoms in certain conditions, they don't always address the underlying factors contributing to pain or reduced function.
That's why our pathway brings together specialist medical treatment and structured physiotherapy rehabilitation.
How Does Our Injection Pathway Work?
Step 1 – Specialist Medical Assessment
Your journey begins with an assessment by Dr Jas Bhamrah, who will review your symptoms, medical history and condition to determine whether injection therapy is appropriate.
Not everyone needs an injection, and alternative treatment options will be discussed where appropriate.
Step 2 – Injection Therapy
If an injection is recommended, Dr Bhamrah will explain the proposed treatment, expected benefits, potential risks and what to expect afterwards.
Step 3 – Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
Following your injection, our Kinetic physiotherapy team will guide you through a structured rehabilitation programme tailored to your condition and goals.
Depending on your needs, this may focus on improving joint mobility, rebuilding strength, restoring function and gradually returning to normal activities.
Step 4 – Follow-Up Clinical Review
Your pathway also includes a follow-up review to assess your progress, evaluate your response to treatment and discuss any further steps needed.
By combining medical treatment with rehabilitation, we aim to provide continuity of care throughout your recovery.
Why Choose Kinetic's Injection Pathway?
We understand that every patient is different. Whether you're a keen runner, a regular gym-goer, an active parent or simply want to get through the working day without persistent discomfort, your treatment should reflect your individual needs.
Our pathway offers:
Specialist medical expertise – Assessment and injection treatment with Dr Jas Bhamrah.
Integrated physiotherapy – Rehabilitation designed to complement your medical treatment.
Individualised care – Treatment recommendations based on your condition, symptoms and goals.
A complete pathway – From assessment and treatment through to rehabilitation and clinical review.
A focus on long-term recovery – Helping you improve strength, movement and confidence rather than focusing on pain relief alone.
Is an Injection Right for You?
It's important to remember that injections aren't always the answer.
Some conditions respond extremely well to physiotherapy, exercise and activity modification alone, while others may benefit from additional medical intervention.
The effectiveness of an injection depends on the condition being treated, the type of injection and your individual circumstances.
Our approach is always to ensure you receive the most appropriate treatment, with your long-term health and recovery at the centre of every decision.
