What we do

Your initial consultation is a systematic, stringent assessment that influences your treatments and rehabilitation program.

This is arguably the most important aspect of your recovery.

It takes into account subjective information as well as objective carried out by our clinician. Your consultation may also include a functional movement screening to help identify any movement patterns which may have encouraged your injury.

Manual therapy is a 'hands-on' type of therapy which involves a range of treatment techniques. It emphasizes on decreasing pain, improving range of motion and encourages the relaxation of soft tissue structures. Evidence also shows that manual therapy promotes and accelerates tissue healing, increases tissue extensibility, facilitates movement and improves overall physical function. The manual therapy techniques we use at Kinetic include:

  • Massage

  • Soft Tissue Manipulation

  • Joint Mobilisations

  • Joint Manipulations

  • Tractions

  • Muscle Energy Techniques

  • Frictions

Rehabilitation begins as soon as initial treatment is administered. At Kinetic we integrate key individual components into a progressive rehabilitation program to ensure you hit your pre-injury performance levels.

Approaching rehabilitation is different in a sports therapy environment than in most other rehabilitation settings. The competitive nature of sports people requires an assertive approach to rehabilitation. As competitive seasons in sports are usually short, athletes don’t tend to have the luxury of sitting around waiting for the injury to heal. Our goal at Kinetic is to manage and conduct a safe and effective - but also aggressive - rehabilitation program.

EXERCISE IS MEDICINE

Strength and conditioning is a system of programs and exercises to develop a higher level of athletic preparation. Strength and conditioning is not just about getting stronger and bigger; it is about reducing injuries and improving performance - tying in closely to some of our rehabilitation philosophies.

In strength and conditioning, strength is developed with the intent of improving sport skills, not for the sake of more strength. Size is developed in areas that will benefit from greater size - not for aesthetics. Although many personal trainers glorify strength and flaunt the one-rep max of their clients, the only valuable strength to us is functional strength.

How healthy are your staff?

The three key challenges for business' in the UK are sickness absence, stress in the workplace and staff retention. This has cost the UK Economy £42 Billion, based on an average salary level of £25,000 per year, plus further costs incurred from lost productivity and having to recruit and train new staff.

Our bespoke Health and Wellness program incorporates Manual Therapy, 1-1 Health and Wellness assessments and Exercise & Nutritional Planning, which has objectively proven to tackle these challenges.
